I simply adore your music. Your style on ocarina or oboe is so singularly unique that one can listen to a selection and know that it's you. I remember some years ago, I was listening to a jazz station in Atlanta when Shadow Dancer was played. It was the first time I had ever heard the piece. But I knew it was you from other Narada selections with which I was already familiar. Once the DJ announced the name of the song, I just had to have a copy and that is when I bought the album Emerald.

It was a wonderful program last night. I especially enjoyed the Coyote Dance song. Didn't realize an ocarina could sound like that. Thanks for sharing. Buck

On your Legends album, did you and Eric choose the Legend Name first, then write your music to represent the Legend? I am intrigued by the Legends you chose, and I imagine their stories as I listen to your wonderful interpretations. And how did you limit your choice to just 8?

Nancy, You share the name with my sister who also played the oboe at UKY. Your music reminds me of her. Thank you. Steve

Dear Nancy
I Recently saw your performance at the Leavenworth Bird Festival. The concert was outstanding and your interpretation of bird songs was even more outstanding.
I bought two of your cds and one of "Ttingstad and Rumbel and have not stopped playing them.
The "Ocarina Music" cd is just delightful.

They all have such beautiful listening music. I hope there are more of the same to follow in the very near future.

Thank you for such an enjoyable show and hope that we will see you in Leavenworth next year for the Bird Festival and another great concert.
Thank you.

I love all of your music & especially the 'Ocarina Music' album. I listen to it in the wee hrs & play it for my toddler granddaughter when she visits. ? Who played the pans for you on 'Passing Fancy'? my guess would be Andy Narell (I love all the work he does with young people). I wish you a speedy & complete recovery and I look forward to hearing your future projects. Thank you for all your inspiring talents.

Dear Nancy,

I am a seminary teacher and am living in Langley, BC.

Few weeks ago, I visited Korea and had chance to visit Hyunil Ko's workshop of wooden ocarina in Buchun. He said he is very proud of you and recommended me to meet you someday if possible.

I started to learn ocarina since last April. But I was already fell in love with it. It has so beautiful sound. And I am enjoying your sample music in your website. Thank you very much. I hope I can have a chance to drop in your studio when I come to Seattle.

Thanks again,

Hi Nancy, Love your music, hope all is well. The ocarinas are wonderful, there was one lying about our house in S.A. and I remember trying it-too bad I didn't keep trying. You look so splendid in the foto, seeing your face cheered me up, thanks!

Hi there! We sat next to you at the Grammy Preshow this past weekend. Just wanted to reach out and say hello!

January 27, 2013

Call me crazy, but I believe my wife and I attended a Tingstad-Rumble concert in MA (Cape Cod??) in the 80s sponsored by a Boston radio station and a particular female dj whose name escapes me. We've been fans ever since (and we'll always miss that dj). If we ever get to the West coast, we'll be sure to time our trip for when you and Eric may be in concert. Many thanks for all the great music and memories.

Hi Nancy,
Hope the holidays are going well. Ray and I enjoyed the Tingstad & Rumbel concert at the Thumb!!! Ray was particularly mesmerized by your playing the Ocarina so I just purchased an autographed CD as a Christmas present for him. He's going to be delighted! Take care and I hope to hear you play in person SOON! Regards, Becky Mowry

Hi Nancy Rumbel,
I have enjoyed you music for many years and have numerous CD's of you and Eric Tingstad.
I do have a question.
In July of 1990 you and Eric performed out side in Issaquah for tht First Mountains to Sound march. There was also a keyboard player. Who was the person on the keyboard? I have a couple photos of that event if that would help. I am putting together a photo album of that event. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry

Just happened upon your first tune when searching for Zelda tunes on Spotify. I am in LOVE with your (what i consider) Medival, video-game esque, calming tunes filling my stress filled days with adventurous melodies.

Hi Nancy

I just came across my Narada Decade CD (1993) and am emjoying "Shanandoah. I first heard your peaceful and wonderful music on the "Music From The Hearts of Space" PBS radio show in the 80's. We are on the east coast and do not get out your way that often, although we are coming out to Olympic Nationa Park to do some hiking next month and see that you were recently performing in Port Angles. Take care and keep on keepin' on!
